WHO: 6-10 members of Los Gatos WATCH Motorcycle Club
WHAT: Will ride their motorcycles to InnVisions Commercial Street Inn to bring candy, cards, and other gifts for homeless women and their children on Valentines Day..
WHEN: Saturday, February 13, 1999 12:00 Noon
WHERE: InnVisions Commercial Street Inn
WHY: Families with young children are the fastest-growing group among the homeless. Santa Clara County has the highest real estate cost in the nation, leaving many families, and low-income workers unable to afford housing.
InnVision is the leading provider of services for the homeless in Santa Clara Valley. InnVisions programs include multi-service centers, emergency shelters, transitional housing, education, and vocational training and placement.
John Clevenger, a member of WATCH, and the organizer of this project, wanted to do something that would enable homeless children to celebrate Valentines Day with their mothers. He is also involved with other activities to help the homeless in Santa Clara County.
