President and Chief Executive Officer

The Opportunity

InnVision has an $18 million asset base and an $11 million annual operating budget. Now a regional provider, InnVision has experienced rapid growth and expansion over the past decade. The Chief Executive Officer position provides a seasoned, forward-looking executive with the opportunity to lead the development and implementation of strategic plans in partnership with the Board of Directors and a core team of senior managers. The Chief Executive Officer will be instrumental in strengthening InnVision's operational excellence and standing in the community, while further inspiring a talented and dedicated staff. The position requires a results-oriented leader who can cultivate relationships with corporate, foundation, government, and community leaders for new collaborative opportunities, including next generation housing and service models in response to community needs and governmental requirements.

The Chief Executive Officer is accountable for:

  • Organizational leadership and development - Alignment of people, culture, and systems with strategic objectives; establishment of a strong sense of teamwork, collaboration, and innovation to drive unified action
  • Financial and fiscal sustainability - Sound management and monitoring of agency resources through financial and management information systems which comply with applicable laws, regulatory authorities, contractual obligations, and grant requirements; development of strategic investments
  • Governance - Fiduciary duties; compliance with legal and ethical standards; serving as liaison between the Audit Committee, independent auditor, and financial staff to ensure the production of timely audited financial statements; awareness of the regulatory environment, including laws and changes which impact agency business
  • Board development - Recruitment and cultivation of Board members in setting the direction for the agency, raising funds, and providing fiscal oversight; communication of comprehensive information and trends to facilitate Board decisions, including strategic and operating plans, annual budget, new ventures, etc.
  • Fund development, community relations, and government relations - High visibility, high impact external representation; personal cultivation of, and stewardship for, key donors; oversight of procurement and administration of 50+ government contracts and 100+ private grants; relationship building with local, state, and federal government; spearheading of capital campaigns
  • Program development - Strategic level program direction and assessment of the quality and effectiveness of required outcomes; coaching of senior program management to identify and respond to the need for programmatic enhancements, as well as to new challenges and partnerships
  • Facilities and equipment management - Oversight of new construction or remodeling of existing buildings; maintenance of buildings and furnishings to ensure safety and longevity; compliance with housing laws, minimum shelter standards, code enforcement, and special permits; solicitation and management of donated goods valued at $2 million

The Ideal Candidate

InnVision's Chief Executive Officer will be a strong visionary focused on strategic issues and the transformation of InnVision from its current well-respected position in the community to the next level of the agency's development. We expect the ideal candidate will bring versatile skills and attributes:

  • Proven leadership capabilities - significant senior management experience where seasoned judgment, strategic planning and execution, and a respected, approachable management style have led to success
  • Exceptionally strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills - comfortable in a highly visible role as primary spokesperson in regular dealings with government agencies, foundations, corporations, private donors, civic/educational partners, political officials, interfaith communities, the general public, and the media
  • Revenue generation track record - demonstrated capability to raise and sustain multi-million dollar campaigns, maintaining major donor relationships, expanding existing donor base, cultivating new sources, and accessing other revenue streams
  • Proactive collaboration in decision-making - openness to diverse points of view with the ability to delegate after setting clear direction
  • Strong conceptual and analytical skills - ability to envision and discern the viability of new projects and systems
  • Financial acumen - management and growth of a complex real estate portfolio
  • Commitment to leading a human services organization - sensitivity to the population served by InnVision, passion for influencing available social services, oversight of large volunteer base
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree and seasoned senior management experience leading a multi-faceted organization (100+ staff) with public and private constituents and a variety of stakeholders including interfaith communities

Compensation

Competitive compensation and benefits will be offered to the selected candidate for a June 2006 start date.
