Our clients can't afford the basic health screenings
and check-ups that those more fortunate receive. InnVision's Director
of Programs, and Program Managers are always interested in ideas from
those who may be able to donate products or services.
Many of our homeless clients are children. For the very young, volunteers
are needed to attend to them while their mothers attend classes on topics
such as parenting and ESL. For school age children, there is a need for
homework tutors and computer trainers, among other services.
InnVision maintains computer labs at sites for men, women and children.
Clients use the labs for job searches, resume writing, apartment hunting,
and even to find loved ones with whom they've lost touch. The children
use the computers to research and write homework assignments. Volunteers
are needed to staff the labs and provide instruction and encouragement!
Our homeless clients want to find jobs. Since the job market is very
competitive, a well-written, neatly typed resume is critical. Volunteers
are needed to teach resume writing, and other skills needed for those
who are job hunting.
InnVision feeds thousands of people each week. Food and supplies must
be picked up and delivered to their appropriate sites daily. Volunteers
with valid drivers licenses and good DMV records are needed to perform
a variety of errands.
The first step in volunteering is to submit the online Volunteer
Application. Please be patient, processing of applications and placement
at a site could take up to two weeks.
