The goal of InnVision is to provide emergency shelter, transitional/supportive housing and comprehensive services for the severely mentally ill. In doing so our clients receive a safe environment free from drugs and alcohol to work on their rehabilitation and reentry into permanent housing.
This program would not be possible without the following major contributors, partnerships and collaborators: Santa Clara County Medical Health Department, Santa Clara County Drug and Alcohol Department, Housing and Urban Development (HUD), City of San Jose CDBG, Medi-Cal, Mission College, David Barron, C.Ht, Gardner Family Healthcare for the Homeless, Gail Osmer, San Jose Veterans Association and St. Pauls Methodist Church.

SafeHaven Program |
The SafeHaven Program is part of a national model to help individuals with severe mental illnesses that have avoided shelter programs in the past. The goal is to help them access services and to assist them with income maintenance support. Ten beds at Julian Street Inn are reserved for SafeHaven participants. These are individuals who have been diagnosed with a severe mental illness but are not yet receiving all of the benefits for which they qualify. A SafeHaven case manager works with them for up two years to help them through the process and help them plan for a successful reentry into permanent housing. |
Stevens House | |
The Stevens House opened in July 2001 for 8 graduates of Julian Street Inn. Residents may stay in this transitional housing for up to two years. Each resident pays a small fee and is expected to contribute 20 hours a week in community service. Weekly house meetings are facilitated by our on-site occupational therapist. Who works closely with each resident to make sure they are on-track with their planned goals. |
Day Rehabilitation Program |
Weekdays, Julian Street Inn also offers rehabilitation services to its residents and former residents. Individuals receive one-on-one counseling and support as well as participating in support groups. The groups are facilitated by InnVision case managers under the supervision of a Clinical Supervisor and are designed to help clients increase their coping skills, maintain sobriety, and develop resources to help them maintain independence. |
